A passion of mine has always been seeing men picking up their swords and joining in the spiritual warfare that is going on around us.
Ephesians 6:12– For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. NIV
Yet most of us (followers of Yeshua) are oblivious to the battle that rages on unseen by our natural eyes, so by default, we accept that as truth. The inevitable happens and one day we wake up finding ourselves taken out of the battle because we have accepted the game of the world as our battle ground- you know, wealth, health, and fame!
I wish I could say that I was not taken out, or have never been taken out, but there have been times in my life where I have glanced at the games of this world and I have been thrown to the sidelines of life.
Over the past few months I have become awakened again to the awesomeness of God and how everything from the beginning of time has been set in motion to the timings of God’s revealing Himself to the world, from His birth to His coming again.
I have been fortunate to have a group of men that I meet with on a regular basis to think, pray and battle with. As a Canadian Armed Forces reserve chaplain, one of the most important strategies I have learned is this:
you never battle alone,
you are always to have a team mentality!
However, I am afraid that one of the deceptions the enemy has placed in our churches mindset, is that you are alone in your battles and that you don’t need anyone else!
I like what Galatians 6:2,3 says:
Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ. If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important. NLT (OUCH!)
Also, Ecclesiastes 4:9,10:
Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up. NKJV
As a person in a battle- who are you fighting with? Who are your brothers and sisters in arms? Why be the lone soldier standing alone ready to be sniped out by the enemy?
Thanks again for stopping by,
